The Art of the Fresh Start: Reinvigorating Your Writing Practice Post-Pandemic

with J.P. Choquette

Does life feel like it’s on instant replay lately? Get up, work, take care of the kids or pets, do the dishes, collapse in front of Netflix. Following months of same-ness, many of us are struggling to reignite our creative passion, find our muse, or get more than a sentence down on paper.

If you need a refresh of your writing practice, please join us for “The Art of the Fresh Start: Reinvigorating Your Writing Practice Post-Pandemic.” Led by author and writing coach, J.P. Choquette, this will be an hour filled with refreshment and encouragement for your writer’s soul.

We’ll discuss these key elements:

  •  Shakers and Bakers - Determining the type of writer you were during COVID-19 to help reignite the spark in your writing now
  • Getting Out of the Quicksand - Simple, easy-to-implement tips for restarting a stalled writing habit
  • Grace & Gratitude - The power of giving yourself grace and reflecting on gratitude…and how both can support you in your creative life

Please bring paper, a pen or pencil, or your laptop for notes and your most pressing questions. We’ll close with a Q&A session as time allows.

Meditation/Relaxation Sessions

with Caryn Connolly

1st 15-minute Meditation: Meditation and Relaxation for Writers

Caryn will lead attendees through some gentle mudras (hand movements) to encourage focus, followed by a short-guided meditation to open up to creativity.

2nd 15-minute Meditation: Singing Bowl Meditation for Creativity

Be prepared to bliss out, while Caryn plays bowls that will focus on awakening creativity, imagination, and the will and focus to write. Sit down, relax, and allow the vibrations of the bowls to wash over you. There is nothing you need to do or think about during this session.
