Corrina Thurston: Marketing Through Visual Media and Storytelling

Corrina has written two books on the topics of business and marketing for creatives and frequently gives presentations, workshops, and does consulting on those topics. For this workshop, she will go into detail about how visual media and storytelling should be the backbone of your marketing for your writing and author platform.

She’ll talk about how best to use visuals in your marketing, what makes good storytelling for marketing specifically, and how to enhance and emphasize both in order to capture the attention of your audience. She uses specific examples to clearly explain her points, and you’ll walk away with easy-to-implement ideas to use for your own marketing plan.

About Corrina Thurston

Corrina is a wildlife artist, author, speaker, and business consultant working out of central Vermont. She began drawing in 2010, two years into a debilitating illness that left her mostly bedridden for over six years. Her art and writing were the silver lining of what came out of her illness, and now that she’s on proper treatment, she’s turned them into a career.

She’s a TEDx speaker, was named one of the Top 40 People Under 40 in Vermont for 2018, and her books have been listed on the “Best Books for Artists” by the Arts Business Institute.  Ted Tedford: Incident at St. Albans

Ted Tedford, a long-time newspaper reporter and editor, will discuss the research and writing of his historical novel. The novel is about a Civil War raid by Confederate soldiers on St. Albans, Vermont, and the 21-year-old Kentuckian who led the raid. It netted them about $300,000 from robbing the town’s three banks, and they successfully escaped back to Canada where they had gathered to plot the raid.

About Ted Tedford

Ted Tedford is a long-time newspaper editor and reporter. He is now semi-retired. He has worked for five daily newspapers, including The Burlington Free Press. On retirement from daily newspapering, he was editor and general manager of the Mountain Villager, a weekly newspaper covering towns in eastern Chittenden County. When that paper folded, he turned to freelance writing and has published Incident at St. Albans, a historical novel about a Civil War raid on St. Albans, Vermont, by Confederate soldiers. He is also writing short stories.
